Mr. Jacob Heath of Brooklyn, New York died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Brooklyn Rehab Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery in Pinehurst,  Georgia.

On Tuesday, July 20, 1937, Dan and Pinkie Heath welcomed to their growing family twin boys, Jacob and Ike.  They were born in the city of Pitts, GA.  Jake, as he was affectionately, called was raised with his five brothers and two sisters until he became an adult.  All have preceded him in death. 


Jake received his formal education at Snow Hill Church in Wilcox County.  After graduating from school, he worked with his family in Pitts, GA farming the land.  During this time, two children were born to him, a daughter, Pinkey Heath and a son, JW Heath (deceased- September 27, 2019).  In 1957, he met his best friend and love of his life, Annie Bell Ford of Cordele, GA. The two married in 1967.  To this union was born his second son, Larry Ford.


Jake and his wife moved to Brooklyn, NY where he became a certified engineer for MetLife Insurance and retired.  After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends especially in his neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY where he is known as the “Handyman.”


On Tuesday, September 24, 2019, Jake transitioned from this world having lived a full life.  He leaves to cherish, his lovely wife, Annie Bell Heath of Brooklyn, NY; two children:  Larry Ford of Cordele, GA and Pinkey (Benjamin) Williams of Fort Lauderdale,FL; three grandchildren:  Latoya (Cozie) Ray of Warner Robins, GA, Larry Ford “Booman” of Cordele, GA and Carlos (Janet) Sutton of Covington, GA and six great grandchildren:  Auyanna Valeia Ford of Cordele, GA, Latrevon Marcellus Ford of  Perry, GA, Jacoby Risaun Ford of Perry, GA, Ja’Maya Alexandria Lee  of Perry, GA, Malachi Sutton and Brian Adams of Covington, GA.  He adored his lovely nieces:  Annie Mae Lawson and Velma Barnhart of Brooklyn, NY, Gayla (James) Bleach of Cordele, GA, and Gwen and Lisa Lawson of Brooklyn, NY.  He also valued his long time friendships and neighbors especially, JJ and Michelle Berney and their children of Brooklyn, NY; his sisters-in-law:  Ommie Lee Ford and Nell Ford and a special cousin, Georgia Gaines of Cordele, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.
