Myles F. Tupy, age 77, of Faribault, passed away February 15, 2017, at Pleasant View Estates, Faribault. Funeral Mass is set for 10:30 AM Monday, February 20, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Medford. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the funeral mass at church starting at 9:30 AM. Myles was born August 25, 1939 in Webster Township in rural Rice Co. to parents Frank and Mary (Schoenbauer) Tupy. He attended school in Veseli. After school Myles volunteered for the draft in 1958 for the army, working for motor pool as a mechanic. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1960. He continued with active reserve then later on standby reserves until 1964. After returning to civilian life, Myles went to work at McQuay in Faribault he worked in general assembly. Myles retired in 2001 after 39 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles Club and Christ the King Church. His hobbies included traveling, music, playing keyboard accordion, enjoying tractor pulls, thrashing shows and reading. Myles is survived by children, Deborah Tupy of Waseca, Doug Tupy, and David (Jenni) Tupy of Midlothian, TX; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; siblings, Marion Skluzacek, Fritz (Karen) Tupy, Clarence (Joanie) Tupy, Eugene (Dorothy) Tupy, Ronald (Mary) Tupy, and Kenneth (Sally) Tupy. He is preceded in death by parents, and one brother-in-law, Norbert Skluzacek.

Something that impressed me about Myles is how well he adapted to using his wheelchair. He could scoot along pretty fast in his chair.
