Not sure what to say?

Sorry everyone for your loss. I was working at an office job and decided to apply for the Peace Corps - I called state botanist Les Mehrhoff (RIP) and he yelled into the phone, "we're hiring! we're hiring!" and he convinced me to come and work for Nancy at the CT NDDB which at the time was on a standalone PC on a cart behind Nancy's desk. I learned a lot working with her, and she told me about her experiences as a wildfire fighter. She was devoted to swimming and as I recall she would swim...

Nancy was my first boss, at my first professional job out of college, at the CT Natural Diversity Database. She taught me so much, and though I was only there for 4 yrs before moving out of state, we stayed in touch and were friends through the years. We had a memorable trip to Sedona, AZ in 2007, where we hiked and birded and caught up after 20 some years of not seeing eachother in person. She was fiercely loyal and dedicated to her friends and family, and pioneering as the first woman...

All of Nancy's friends at the Northeast Aquatic Nuisance Species Panel send their condolences to Gavin and all of the extended Murray family. We remember Nancy as a smiling, collaborative, kind-hearted professional. She was always ready to volunteer for an effort as well as the first that her colleagues thought of to step up for an initiative. We shall all miss her and hope that all of these remembrances will bring comfort to Gavin andall of Nancy's family.

My condolences to Nancy's family. I worked with Nancy at DEEP for about 10years and have only the best memories. Her passion for both aquatic plants was very apparent. My fondest memory was our drive to a conference in Vermont one January and her calm demeanor as she drove during an ice storm up and down through a small mountain pass road we used as a detour to get around blocked highways. The flaming tree branches touching some power lines over the round were especially interesting. Take...

My deepest sympathies to Nancy's family and Gavin. I worked with Nancy at DEP/DEEP for many years primarily with National Fire Crew mobilizations and training. Not only was she a pioneer on the crew as the first female, she was a hard working wildland firefighter, a terrific trainer, and dedicated biologist but a real friend. Nancy always was the person who would bring our training cadre back to reality when we tackled new ideas, training methods and courses. We so valued her input and...

Nancy will be greatly missed. I collaborated with her during her time at CT DEP and enjoyed both many productive meetings and many laughs with her. She was dedicated to her work and was so excited as her work expanded into aquatic plants. She spoke with great love of her family. My sincere condolences.

Deacon Emmett I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter. Love and prayers go out to you and your family. Alzheimer's is an awful disease and I pray one day there will be a cure.

Brian, will keep you and family in our prayers. I remember you speaking of your firefighter, sister , be well my friend.

Dear Emmett and family, Bill and I send our love and prayers to you and for Nancy. Our hearts are breaking for you even though we know she is in a better place. God bless and sustain you. Dear Emmett
