Nancy Pressler was a kind lady . A Great cousin to my Mother ( Mary Lou Hopkins Phalen) . I remember one year she and chipper flew to California to visit my Mother in Laguna Hills. It was always fun to visit the Pressler family in Barberton Ohio! My condolences to the Pressler family! I have fond memories of Nancy and Paul Pressler and family!

Grandma Pressler was a blessing in my life and I am incredibly thankful for her. She was the most selfless, hospitable person that I've ever known. Grandma was constantly working to provide for others. I never heard her complain or tire of all the work she did, and she asked for little in return. Even in her final years as she had physical ailments, she would insist that you sit down and relax while she worked. I would visit Grandma and Grandpa Pressler every summer in North Carolina, and I remember seeing a garage and spare bedroom full of packed boxes already prepared for Christmas, with names on them. Grandma would proudly speak of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and show that she had several gifts for each planned out. The love and care she showed for so many is nothing short of extraordinary, and I will never forget it. Shortly after I graduated college and moved to a new city, I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa. I had a small, two door car, but Grandma had already prepared all sorts of kitchenware, artwork, and other things to help furnish my new apartment. We worked hard to fit as much as we could, and my car was packed so tightly with all the stuff she had given me, that I had to take some of it out just to fit my suitcase back in the car.
In addition to all of the work and effort Grandma put forth to provide for others, I admire her tender heart just as much. When I would call on the phone to talk to Grandma and Grandpa Pressler, Grandpa would typically pick up. While I considered Grandpa my role model (and still do), he was never much of phone talker. Within about 5 minutes, he would typically hand the phone to Grandma, and we would talk for about 20 to 30 minutes before I would hear grandpa yell in the background Matt has things to do get off the phone! I thought this was funny, but I actually really enjoyed talking to Grandma on the phone and was never in a hurry to end the conversation. In addition to here caring nature on the phone, I will always remember the long hand written letters Grandma would send along with Christmas cards, Birthday cards, or sometimes on their own. As I reflect, I realize how fortunate I was to have someone so selfless, loving and caring in my life.
I love and miss both Grandma and Grandpa dearly, but I also feel joy that they are together again.

Mom was my best friend in life and she proved it in so many ways. She and dad were always here for me when I needed them. I am so fortunate to have had them for my parents. I love and miss them so much and pray that one day I will be with them again.

As all my siblings have said, my mom was the most loving, giving and selfless person I have ever known. Now that I am older, I know what she told me is true...and that is that she was my best friend. She really was and I miss her so very much. I love you always and forever mom.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been blessed with my grandma being a part of my life for the last 43 years. She was an amazing woman and I will never forget her. She was the sweetest woman I have ever met and her sole purpose in life seemed to always be making sure that she took care of her family. She would give the shirt off of her back to any of us. I would jokingly ask her for money and it didn't matter the amount, she would simply say OK honey, never even flinching or considering the amount (I never actually took any!) she was strong-willed and demanding at times but always had a soft heart. It made me so happy that she was able to meet all of my kids and my wife before she passed - one of the things that saddens me about Grandpa dying before I was married and had Hayes. Both were such caring and loyal and loving people that I wanted each of my kids to know them. She will be sorely missed, but I am at peace knowing that she is finally reunited with Grandpa. She would cry about how badly she missed him every time I was with her after his passing. They were soulmates that belong together for eternity and now they are. I love you and will always miss you Grandma.

Our final goodbye

Paul and Nancy were our neighbors in NC for not nearly enough time. Chuck played golf weekly with Paul. He amazed everyone with his stamina, far exceeding his younger golf partners who always stayed in the golf cart and watched Paul walk the course carrying his bags. Nancy's "fire in her soul and grace in her heart" inspired all of us on Hastings Rd. They were such a sweet and endearing balance with a commitment that teaches us about "staying the course." We have and will always miss them dearly. Jane and Chuck Leach

Mom truly was the greatest woman I knew! I told her that a few weeks before she died, and she just laughed. I guess she was humble too!
