WALKER, Nancy, departed this life peacefully August 22, 2013 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings; husband, Fred Walker; and longtime friend, Joe Crane. She is survived by sons, Lewis and Steve; daughters-in-law, Christine and Leslie; granddaughters, Susan (David) and Laura (Richard); grandsons, Daniel (Cora) and Michael; and also by great-granddaughters, Alicia (Jared), Jackie, Katie; and great-grandsons, Charlie and Michael. Nancy was a grand Southern Lady, a devoted mother and loving and joyous grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her church and had been a devoted supporter and volunteer. She loved to work in her gardens and was always happy to be amongst her flowers. She was a longtime resident of the Masonic Home of VA, and in lieu of flowers, contributions to the endowment fund of the home would be appreciated. A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will be held in the Masonic Home Chapel, 500 Masonic Lane, at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013.
