Nathaniel "NL" Via Jr.
Nathaniel Logan "NL" Via Jr., 73, of Charlottesville, died Monday, February 9, 2009, at a local care facility.
He was born April 24, 1935, in Charlottesville, the son of the late Nathaniel Logan Via Sr. and Gertrude Via.
NL worked for many years in pest control.
Surviving him are his two sons, John Thomas "JT" Via of Charlottesville and Charles "Charlie" Wesley Via and his wife, Donna, of Spotsylvania; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Dorothy F. Marsh and Ann V. Risden-Heberling and her husband, Greg; three brothers, Ralph E. Via and his wife, Pearl, John W. Via and his wife, Patricia, and James R. Via and his wife, Linda; his former wife and long time friend, Betty A. Via of Charlottesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family suggests that any desired memorial contribu- tions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1445 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
