Not sure what to say?

Dear Friends and Family.
We want to say how appreciative we are of the time you've taken to give us these wonderful tributes to dad. They are all truly, the essence and character of The Slammer.
Dad's lessons to live by, live on for his grand/great grandchildren through your words;"A good caddy is your right hand", "treat everyone like your brother", "play to win."
To Mom/Annie and the rest of us, your memories are cherished by us and will remain, a part of the legacy of Nick...

Dear Stevens Family,
I have just returned from being out of town and have learned of your loss. I do so wish I could have attended the funeral service. I had the opportunity to caddy for Nick many times at MacDonald Park. My fondest memory is caddying for Nick one Saturday afternoon at Mac Park when he hit driver and 6 iron into the hole for a double eagle! What a thrill. Nick was a great golfer but his greatness is truly recognized in the quality of his family. He will be missed. ...

The Stevens Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Nick was such a special friend to so many of us. The fun times of growing up around the golf courses and Nick's ever lasting impressions and life lessons he left with many. We all can be very proud to have been a part of his wonderful life.
With our deepest sympathy.

Dear Annie and family,Like so many others in this town I have tons of fond memories of "The Slammer" starting at Mac Park where I first met him. Nick was like a father to lots of us kids growing up and I will never forget him. You all are in my thoughts.

Dear Annie and family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time. Nick always had a kind word to say, he will be missed.

To Annie, Jane, Johnny, Jack & Jean Ann (to the ones I personally know) and all your wonderful family,
Nick was so special to me. I loved being around him. He made me laugh and laugh and laugh. Annie you are so blessed. There are so many great memories. He will be missed.
Love you,
Marsha

Toad and Beaver--I am sorry to here about the passing of your father. Brian and I send our deepest regards. He loved his family and was so proud of them. Sincerely...

I have many fond memories of my Dad, King Roberts, taking me to Cigarette Service on Saturdays. I'll always remember one Saturday when Nick and my father were moving a cigarette machine and being small I actually stood inside another machine to get out of their way. Nick saw me, laughed, and said I was small enough to fit into his shirt pocket. Through all the many years when ever I met up with Nick he never failed to mention that day. He will be missed. My condolences to the family. He was a...
