Sashi, I knew both you and Nick at GS - I worked with Nick during my first year as an Associate on the sales desk, and he was on the Merchandising team. He was so smart and generous with his time, teaching me about the structure of various options instruments very patiently even though it took a while to sink in. :-) I met you while I was looking for a new role, potentially on your team - and you were also so approachable, helpful and creative in thinking how my skills could be utilized on your team. It made total sense that two such kind, smart people would find their way to each other, and start a family. I can imagine that it feels unfair that he was taken away from you, at such a young age. But he will be with you and your children, in spirit. I wish you and your family strength and happiness in the near and far future. And Nick all the best in his next journey. Almost a year has passed since losing Nick and I think of him all the time. I talk to him regularly in the office as I envision him sitting atop my bloomberg terminal. He was one of the rare birds you could actually rely on for honest advice and intelligent conversation. I know he's trying to help if he can. I hope I can stay in touch with Nick through his family in any way I can and hope Sashi you reach out to us for anything you might need including just a playdate with the kids. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I only meet Nicholas once . It was in Dallas last year at Hyman Capital's conference. In the half hour i spent with him and some other colleagues of his, i was really impressed with how down to earth, friendly, intelligent and modest he was. A rare combination of qualities. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
