Not sure what to say?

To The Blume Family --We were so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. We will keep the family in our prayers. Your Dad was a great inspiration to me personally and I sought his advice and counsel in the Legislature and in my Union work. Whenever my work took me to the Gulf I always checked to see if any of the Louisville bunch was at the "cabin". It was always a great time for me to visit with all the old guys. Your Dad was a great host! It was our pleasure to visit with him just before his...

Blume Family: What an amazing guy. His achievements have left a legacy for generations to come. I am so proud to have been related to Norb, and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. With love,

Julie Kaelin (granddaughter of Mildred Blume)

To the Blume Family, My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I hope all the wonderful memories you cherish help soften the sorrow. God bless all of you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Blume Family. The picture here of Mr. Blume is how I will always remember him - smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. Rest in peace!

My first job in 1974 was for Teamsters Local 783. I was 21 years old and had no idea what a mentor and friend "Mr. Blume" would become to me. Norb and the entire Blume family made a huge difference in my life and my sincere sympathy and condolences go out to them. I am very sorry that I could not be there to attend his memorial. How ironic that my reason for not being in Louisville is that I am in Gulf Shores, Alabama, as Norb and his wife Marie were gracious enough to host my family at their...

To the Blume Family
May Mr. Blume find eternal rest and peace with our Heavenly Father. May the thoughts and prayers of your friends help to ease your sorrow and sustain you at this difficult time.
With Sincere Sympathy,

Norb Blume, as Cubmaster of Pack 198, and Marie Blume as Den Mother were probably the first two significant adults in my life outside of my family. They produced wonderful children and had significant contributions to society but I will always remember them as really important people at a really important time of my life, when I was first leaving the backyard.

Fr. Charlie Dittmeier / Phnom Penh, Cambodia

The world is a changed place because of losing Norb. Each of us is given the gift of time on this earth, to live, learn, love and to leave a legacy. Take comfort in knowing that Norb made a true difference in so many lives. He will always be remembered as a special blessing. Expressing my heartfelt sympathy and may God bless each one of his family members. I'm sorry I was unable to pay my respects but I'm in North Carolina for the U of L game. You're all in my thoughts and prayers,

I remember '50's Blume days at 315 S 39th Street. Doug, Denny, & I shot hoops against the garage backboard. Occasionally Mrs Blume would provide a foodling, tho generally not. (Parents did not feed others children in those days.) Later Doug, Denny, Ronny & others passed through Troop 198 We delivered newspapers together We proceeded through our time & space of love, family, routine, & Catholicism..Mr Blume provided a last link to the parents of our era My folks, Dittmeiers, Bunny's mom,...
