Corridan Funeral Home - Chicopee Obituary

Chicopee- Noreen T. (Curran) O’Shea, 97, passed peacefully September 24, 2025 with family at her side. She was born and raised on Hungry Hill, the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Boland) Curran. She was married for 50 years to the late Finian M. O’Shea, until his passing in December 2001. In addition to her parents and husband, Noreen was predeceased by her son, Kevin in 2022, and her sisters Mary Chapdelaine and Kathleen O’Neil, and her brother, James Curran.

A long-time resident of Chicopee, where she and Finian raised their family, she had recently resided at the Arbors in Chicopee and Regal HealthCare in Holyoke, where, as in her whole life, she became loved by all for her endless giving and friendliness. For many years, Noreen worked as a teacher’s aide at various Chicopee public and parochial schools, but her greatest joys came from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind her children, Daniel (Peggy Howard) of Camarillo, California, Andrew (Moira) of Suffield, Connecticut, Brian (Cheryl Hachey) of Belchertown, and Mary Paleologopoulos (Christopher) of South Hadley. She also leaves behind her fifteen grandchildren, Finian, Austin, Kathleen, Sean, Eamonn, Conor, Kara, Brendan, Brianne, Katherine, Michael, Colin, Kathleen, Maggie and Jeffrey and her eighteen great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.  Family and friends are invited to gather directly at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., Springfield, for Noreen’s Funeral Mass at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, with burial immediately following in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, in Chicopee.  Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 30, at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Sacred Heart Church.  www.CorridanFuneral.com
