I have wonderful memories of my time as Minister of Sport and that close association with Sir David and Lady Beattie .... they both made a very significant contribution to New Zealand Sport . Role model leadership comes to mind when I recall them and the old days .
Lady Beattie was elegant and gracious , kind and generous and most of all she made her own, significant mark on public life ... Heaven is greatly enhanced with her presence .
