Odell (Dell) Frances Carmichael Wilson Mrs. Odell (Dell) Frances Carmichael Wilson of Rock Hill, South Carolina, formerly of Ruckersville, and South Boston, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2013. She was born in Halifax County, Virginia, on March 27, 1930, to the late Mamie and Lorenzo Carmichael. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe David Wilson; brothers, Sam, Walter, Harry and Lloyd; her sister, Estelle Nelson; and her son-in-law, Roy Cheatham. Odell was a retired homemaker. She was a charter member of the Center United Church of Christ in South Boston. She was a former member of the South Boston Eastern Star. Services for Mrs. Wilson will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, South Carolinna, with the Reverend Gerald Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Odell had many hobbies. She was an exceptional gardener and could bring back plants from the brink of death. She especially took satisfaction in sewing her daughters' clothes throughout high school and college, and even made several outfits for their honeymoons. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Odell is survived by her daughters, Jackie Cheatham Schropp and husband, Larry, and Jo Ann Hasenfus and husband, Ray, all of Rock Hill, South Carolina; grandchildren, Melissa Parker and Jared of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, David Cheatham and Laura of Longmont, Colorado, and Mark Cheatham of Lafeyette, Colorado; and two step-grandchildren, Jim Schropp of Kannapolis, North Carolinna, and Matt Schropp and Kayla of Asheville, North Carolina. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Drew and Sam Parker and Calla Cheatham; and one step-grandchild, Nathaniel Schropp. She is also survived by her sister, Rosa Sharp of Halifax, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina, and other times at he home of Ray and Jo Ann Hasenfus, 415 Presidio Drive, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
