Pamela L. Newman, 66, Kokomo, passed away at 12:05 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born December 14, 1946 in Kokomo, to the late Francis Marion and Theda Elaine (Gifford) Sallee. On September 1, 1973 she married Leroy S. Newman; he preceded her in death August 23, 2003. Pamela graduated from Kokomo High School in 1965. She retired from Delco Electronics October 1, 1999 after thirty-three years of service, where she was an inventory control clerk. She was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis, American Legion Woman's Auxiliary, Main Street United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society, and advisor for the Kokomo Aktion Club. She loved to play golf, bowl, spend time with her grandchildren, and volunteer in the community. Surviving are her two children; Michael F. Newman, Kokomo, Julie L. and James Watkins, Russiaville, four grandchildren; Ryan J. Watkins, Alex C. Watkins, Ethan M. Newman, Alyssa R. Harmon, sister and a brother-in-law; Michal and Robert Dawson, Kokomo. Also surviving is a nephew; Rick Dawson, Carthage, Indiana, niece; Suzanne Sharp, Bloomington, nephew; Scott Smith, Florida, nephew; Jeff Smith, Kokomo, also other nieces, nephews and cousins who were close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street, 3400 South Webster Street, with Pastor Nancy Blevins officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Main Street United Methodist Church, envelopes will be provided at the mortuary.
