I met Pat in the late '60s at First Presbyterian, Pasadena, TX where she was the new Associate Pastor and I was a newly minted Presbyterian, having left my evangelical roots. She was vibrant, funny, and preached the first sermon that I ever heard about social justice. She was one of many who, by example, nudged me to become a Teaching Elder decades later. Her life is both an inspiration and a challenge to those who knew her.

I met Pat in the manse on Norfolk Street, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, thirty years ago. She was talking shop with my clergy father-in-law. She sat on the piano bench and held our clergy family rapt for nearly 2 hours! I was in my early 20s then, amazed and in awe that "a lady could be a pastor," a reality new to me. A short time later, I found myself watching her work the floor of presbytery as I nursed my infant son. She spied me and after a bit came to chat and make over my son....

I express my Heartfelt Prayers & Condolences to the McClurg Family, Rev. Pat will always be remembered as a true friend to the Indian Presbyterian Church Livingston, Tx of which I am the Commissioned Ruling Elder. I will remember her as a pioneer in camping @ Camp Cho-Yeh. Such an Awesome Woman of God! Rest In Peace & Harmony with God ✝❤
