Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home Obituary

Patricia “Momma Pat” Ann Murphy, 78, passed away on November 26, 2025, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, KY. Born November 26, 1947, in Lawrenceburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Roscoe Murphy, Sr. and Lucy Mae Penny Murphy.

Pat was self-employed and also a devoted minister, known by many as a true maverick of God who lived her faith with boldness and compassion. She loved reading, cherished her kitchen, and found joy in cooking. Pat had a heart for service—always ready to help anyone in need—and faithfully supported ministries close to her heart, including the shoebox ministry and outreach to the homeless. She was a caring listener who welcomed everyone with an open ear. Above all, Pat dearly loved her adopted children and served as a steady, loving overseer of her family.

Pat is survived by her children, Kerry Eugene Murphy and Regina “Gi” Dawn Murphy James (Patricia “Tink” K. Swartz), both of Lawrenceburg; her special nieces and nephews, Jojuan Gallman, William “BJ” Burbridge, and Christian Murphy; her siblings, Rev. Daniel (Roxane) Murphy, Emmitt Murphy, Sr., Paula Murphy, and Cathy Murphy; her partner in crime, Bella Jean Murphy; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William “Cookie” Murphy, Josephine Brooks, Bonnie Elliott, William “Skeeter” Smith, George Murphy, Raymond Murphy, James “Rabbit” Robert Murphy, Jr., Mayme Delores Murphy, Renee Winters Murphy, and Elaine Murphy.

Pat chose cremation, and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Pat’s caregivers, Kandi Martin and Hannah Gayle Williams of Lawrenceburg.

You did it big as always. You came in on your birthday, went home on your birthday. I was blessed to call you mom 50 yrs of my life. I wouldnt ask or change anything for the world. We had our moments, end of the day, you were my mom and best friend. I hope you know I did my best and will continue to my best to keep you proud. You did a good fight like you have for years, we always protected each other. Get your rest, I know you were tired and I hope you are walking and catching up with both...

Knew Patricia for some times growing up in the same neighborhood. Soft spoken and kind . Farewell neighbor, you'll be missed.
