Karen J. Morgan, age 56 of Grand Marsh, passed away following a recent diagnosis with cancer on Monday, November 3, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison. She was born on April 5, 1969 in Waukesha to Wade and Shirley (Rinehart) Merryfield. Karen met Daena Morgan in 1987 and it was love at first sight. They married on March 16, 1991. She has worked at Villa Pines in Friendship as a CNA for the past 34 years. She cared deeply for the residents and her co-workers. Karen loved riding motorcycles, photography, hiking, fishing and going to her grandson’s baseball games.
Karen is survived by her husband, Daena; daughter, Ashley Morgan, Westfield; grandson, Darren Buchholz, Westfield; mom, Shirley Cavanaugh; stepmom, Eleanor Merryfield; three sisters, Laura Manley, Elaine Starling and Amber (Igal) Alberto; three brothers, Wesley Merryfield, Kelly (Kim) and Burt (Marlena) Cavanaugh; close friend, Melissa Holt; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her dad, Wade Merryfield; stepdad, Jerry Cavanaugh; brother, Chris Cavanaugh; niece, Hannah Senechal and nephew, Justin Starling.
A celebration for Karen will be held at a later date.
