Patsy Beal LINCOLNTON Patsy Jean Eckard Beal, 67, of Lincolnton, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, May 20, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born in Catawba Co., Aug. 18, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Earl Roscoe and Mary Pauline Little Eckard. Patsy was a retired seamstress in the furniture industry. She was an avid golfer, wonderful cook and gardener, and volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels and The Greater Hickory Classic. She also was a caregiver to many in her community. Patsy and her husband Darrell were known for hosting friends and family on New Years Day for the traditional New Years Day meal and other events throughout the year. In addition to her parents, Patsy was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Darrell Edward Beal. Patsy is survived by her brother, Dale Eckard and his wife, Brenda, of Claremont; sister, Kay Icard and her husband, Ted, of Conover; nephews, Jeffrey Eckard and his wife, Kara, of Raleigh; Brian Eckard and his wife, Kate, of Columbia, S.C.; Michael Icard of Conover, and Jeremy Icard and his wife, Huong, of Concord; great nieces and nephews, Caelan, Greer, Afton, and Coley Eckard; Larissa, Michaela, Amber, Phillip and Aaron Icard; an aunt, Merna Eckard of Conover; and a special friend Jon Underwood of Conover. A service of remembrance will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton. The Rev. Homer Greene will officiate and burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The Family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton prior to service. Pallbearers will be: Brian Eckard, Jeremy Icard, Joe Eckard, Jason McSwain, Greg Beal, and Trent Beal.
