Paul E. Burkett

Paul was a co worker and good friend of my Father and always played a classic role in the stories told of their fishing trips together. His friendship, stewardship and impact he made on his community will be remembered by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary, Mindy and Sam (families) during this holiday season.

Paul was my first boss in my first job in Des Moines after my marriage. We had so much fun in the Personnel department, which oversaw the tours of American Republic’s renowned collection and which was responsible for that company’s news magazine. Paul was my boss, but also my friend. I will always remember his kindness as he shepherded me through that formative experience. My condolences to Mary and family.

He was a wonderful guy to work for. He did present the gruff exterior, but that soon disappeared. He was funny and fair. And he loved those Hawkeyes. This man will be sorely missed in the world. Mary, my sincere sympathy to you and Sam and Mindy.

Prayers and thoughts for the family, esp Mary. Paul was always kind to me. I’m thankful he knew our Lord.

Enjoyed many good times with Paul especially at Urbandale country club when we both served on the board together. And of course also at Aldersgate church. We were very surprised to hear of his passing.Our love and sympathy to Mary and all of the family.
