Paul E. Christenson, 81, of Knightstown passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.
Paul was born Jan. 28, 1944, in Rowan County, Kentucky, the son of the late Oren and Martha (Hyden) Christenson. He was a 1963 graduate of New Castle High School and spent a 37-year career working at the New Castle Chrysler plant. Paul was a member of the Raysville Friends Church.
Paul was an avid (and very competitive!) slow pitch softball player – well into his adult years and long after many of his contemporaries "retired."
Paul enjoyed cheering for many sports teams – but especially the Chicago Cubs, the Indiana Pacers, and the Indianapolis Colts.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Oren and Martha Christenson; his in-laws, Gene and Judy Richmond; his nephew, Jason Morez; and his brother-in-law, Butch Morez.
Paul is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lisa, as well as his daughters, Pam (Randy) Carlton; Lisa (Richie) Broyles and his stepson, Jared (Stacy) Buckley. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tyler Broyles (Macey Hinshaw); Nic (Abby) Broyles; Kelly (Corey) Buskirk; Addison Buckley and Dexter Buckley. Great-grandchildren include Peyton and Piper Buskirk and another baby girl due later this year. Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Tena Morez; special niece Katie Garst; great nephews Cason and Carter Garst.
Paul's family wishes to thank everyone at Morristown Manor for their loving care during these past few months.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Michael Sherman and Michael Jay officiating. Burial followed at South Mound Cemetery.
