GERBIG, Paul H. - Of Grand Blanc, age 83, died Monday, February 23, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Thursday, February 26, 2009 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc, The Reverend George L. Cleaves, Jr. officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of Chevrolet VFW Post #3087 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Visitation 1:30-3:30PM and 5-8PM Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Gerbig will be at the church from 10AM Thursday until the time of the service. Paul was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 29, 1925. On November 20, 1948 he married Helen Koluch in Flint. He served in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan after World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #7303 and was Ham Radio Operator W8FLE. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, gardening and hunting. Mr. Gerbig retired from AC Spark Plug Division. Surviving are son, Jerry and wife Mary of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Kerry Lucasse of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer and husband Josh Hatch of Grand Blanc and Sarah Gerbig of Grand Blanc; 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella Hatch and Gabriella Hatch; brother, Clifford and wife GeeGee of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Naomi Stahl of Israel; several nieces and nephews.
