Paul F. Gillman, Born 11-29-1920, died 8-11-2006. Last Friday, Paul Gillman slipped quietly away, after a full life of over 85 years. Paul is survived by Norma, his wife of 63 years, and their progeny, Cris (Carol) (Al) Ciasca, Tom (Marilyn) Gillman, and Cindy (Mike) Becko; grandchildren, Chad & Duffy Gillman; brother, Richard (Judy) Gillman; sister, Marianne (Don) Thomas; and assorted extended families. Paul grew up in Indianapolis, graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, and Butler University, planning to be a math teacher. World War II intervened, and he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a B-17 pilot stationed in England. A short post war stint with his father-in-law's typewriter store turned into decades, until he moved to Arizona in the mid 1970's. While not really intending to retire, he spent the last 30 years of his life based in Mesa and Show Low, but could be spotted almost anywhere in North America that one could drag an Airstream trailer. We will all miss Paul, for his rationality, for his compassion, for his quiet leadership, but most of all for his sense of humor. The family will gather privately and have a Hot Fudge Sundae in his honor. Those wishing to donate in his name may do so to the following organizations: In Memory of Paul Gillman, Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014 or a charity of your choosing. Not sure what to say?

IT WAS A PLEASURE AND A GIFT TO KNOW PAUL, AS A TENNIS PLAYER AND DISTINCT INDIVIDUAL. HIS SENSE OF HUMOR WAS QUICK, DELIGHTFUL, AND TO THE POINT. HE WAS A GREAT FRIEND TO
ALL HE CAME IN CONTACT WITH. HE HAS BEEN MISSED, FOR SEVERAL YEARS, BY THE SECOND BOUNCE TENNIS AND SOCIAL CLUB AS HE WAS VERY ACTIVE IN THE LEADERSHIP OF THE GROUP, IN MANY WAYS.
