Paul Herrmann Obituary
Paul was born October 3, 1939 in Memphis, the son of the late Paul Edwin Herrmann and Minnie Sutton Herrmann. He graduated from Humes High School in 1957 and served his country in the United States Army as a medic while stationed in Germany from 1963 until 1965. He was employed at Owens-Corning for 30 years before his retirement and was married in 1971 to Betty McCulley Herrmann who preceded him in death on May 9, 2022.
Paul loved spending time with his family and grandkids. He especially enjoyed going to see the Memphis Chicks with his daughter, Carrie and watching his favorite baseball team, the Kansas City Royals. He enjoyed collecting coins and going to the bowling alley with his brother Kenny every Saturday evening for the past 15 years.
Mr. Herrmann is survived by his daughter, Carrie Dunford of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Vickie Dunnigan of Senatobia, MS and Karen Griffin of Bartlett, TN; four brothers, Donnie Herrmann of Memphis, TN, Kurt Herrmann of Munford, TN, Terry Herrmann of Millington, TN and Barry Herrmann of Memphis, TN; and three grandchildren, Evan Dunford of Memphis, TN, Abby Dunford of Memphis, TN and Kenneth Raper of Memphis, TN.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Watson and Kathy Hudnall and two brothers, Charles Keith Herrmann and Kenneth Herrmann.
A visitation for Mr. Herrmann will be from 12 to 1 P.M. Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Pastor Johnathan Matthews officiating.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
