Paul, I'm sad to discover that you're gone from this earth. I valued our friendship in Hartford. You taught me lots. Thanks for that. Rest in peace, my friend.

My heartfelt condolences and sympathy to Paul's family and loved ones. The images of his pistons smoothly firing, while I enjoyed being in his draft on the bike, and of his graceful, commanding, understated handling of the drums, will always remain vivid in my memory... Rest in peace, dear Paul.

Freshman year in high school (1970/'71) was a lonely year for me. Paul was a bright light in it. I felt loved by him, respected, appreciated. 3 years older than me, a friend of my brother Lu's, he kidded with me. He found my eating of a favorite Bartnick snack -- Polish "farmer's cheese", spread with butter and sprinkled with salt -- to be absurd. "Cheese and butter!... Cheese and butter!..." he exclaimed. He took me for a "joy ride" in his white Gremlin. Zipping up and down streets,...

I will certainly miss those sincere hugs and ever-so-clever phrases of wisdom. Sympathies to the whole family.
