I miss my Dad

Peter preceded me as the heavyweight varsity coxswain at Dartmouth College, and he was my inspiration as another energetic short New Yorker with an acquired love for the Connecticut River, the thrill of racing a wooden shell with eight giant independent oarsmen, and a big mouth.

Peter passed along to me not only the coxswain's tricks and skills but, more important, the joy of living a beautiful full life.

My condolences to Bern and family. So very sorry for your loss. He made me feel comfortable the first day I met him at PF+C and always enjoyed his stories about his beloved dogs. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all. R.I.P. Peter

Dear Collins Family -- thank you for sharing Mr. Collins with all of us. He made me feel right at home on my first day at PF&C back in January of 1979 -- even though he asked me to recite everyone's names back to him after just being introduced! I have memories of racing against him when I helped out on Tony Lamb's boat. That was always fun ... and interesting! He was a one of a kind gem, and I always enjoyed any conversation I had with him. He will be missed by all of us. Fondly,...

My deepest condolences to the entire family and friends!

Sincerest condolences to Bern and the Family. Many great and fond memories of Peter, Bern and family as our family's best "next door neighbor" on our adjacent Lake Champlain Yacht Club moorings. Also shared rewarding and professional leadership and representations with Peter. Peter's noted dry humor both personal and professional will be missed!

He would always step off the elevator with a cheerful twinkle in his eye, and begin the topic du jour! God bless you, Peter, and console your family. Rest in peace.

I am sorry to hear of Peter's passing. I first met him when I worked at the Howard Bank back in the 70s, and Peter was doing legal work for the Bank. He was always fun to work with on the bank's legal business, even though the issues were at times serious. He had a way of making work enjoyable.

Over the past 40 years since I left the bank and started our own business, Peter and I have talked from time to time, and I have always enjoyed those interactions. He was one of the...
