Not sure what to say?

I just discovered that Peter has passed, although, in my heart, I was afraid that he was gone. Peter was many things to me. He was first my undergraduate teacher in Boston University. Then he was my advisor for my undergraduate Honors Thesis. Then he was my advisor for grad school. He was this and so much more..., he was and remains a significant figure in my life. And through this, he was my friend. I will miss him.

I give my condolences to his wife and daughter. I know...

Dr. Gumpert changed my life for the better in immense and lasting ways. I am blessed for having known him and to have had him as a guide. His kindness, wisdom, and empathy helped me beyond words. The memories I have and the lessons I learned will continue to guide me for the rest of my life. I am forever grateful and send my best wishes to his family.

Susan and Laura: We are so very sorry to learn of the loss of your Peter. We enjoyed the times we got together in R.I. in summer over food and great conversation. We send our love and hugs, Laurie and Gary Lemos

My sincere condolences to the family.

Peter,

You will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for always being there for me. You were like a father to me and I find myself very lucky to have met you.

Peter
You will always be my mentor, my inspiration and my friend. Thank you for your patience, your love and your kindness.

I was so sorry to hear of Peter's death. He and I worked on the patient advisory councils at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His insights and thoughtfulness were key to each meeting.

My sympathy to his family...

Blessing on this time of sadness and grief. With fond memories,
Martha Turner, CNM (the midwife friend of Susan's)

Sue and Laura, I'm trying to get used to a world where I won't run into Peter in Coolidge Corner, and share a hug and a smile with this lion of group therapy. He brought his colleagues so much as a teacher, mentor and friend. I'll miss him terribly.

I am so sorry to hear of Peter's passing. He was always such a wonderfully thoughtful and inspiring presence during his work as volunteer on the Brookline CERT. With sympathy, Casey
