BROCKING, Philip L., 92, died March 25, 2013 at Chippenham Hospital. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Brocking grew up in Vancouver and served in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War. He became a U.S. citizen in 1960 and had a master's degree in social work. Brocking enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 10, at 12 noon at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus Fr. Bader Scholarship Fund, c/o K of C Council 14034, 1210 Mary Washington St., Henrico, Va. 23075. Arrangements are being handled by Bliley's - Chippenham.
