Philip Scott Bude

My first love. We had many fun and sweet times in our four years together in the late seventies. I haven't seen Phil in 40 years and although I am saddened by his passing, I was heartened to learn that he experienced a happy life and was well-loved.

I met Phil the day before my sophomore year at my neighbors house. We had the same home room teacher. We became locker partners for the next 3 years. We were both born in September, and were 4 days apart in age.

Dear Friend, It is with a heavy heart that I write these words about Phil, one of the most selfless and friendly people I´ve ever had the pleasure to know. I was lucky enough to call him one of my first friends when I moved from Canada to the Gorge in 1989. We bonded over our shared love for windsurfing, and after a day on the water, we´d cram into his small Toyota camper to laugh and recount the day´s adventures, talking about the thrills and spills. Phil had a larger-than-life...

All the games we would get together and watch. Cutting firewood with him, and wrecking his pickup. Picking my pears and hauling them away. Many many memories with, and of Phil. Left an empty place in many hearts at this time!
