Phil married my mother Judy, and I felt that we shared a wonderful father with his lucky children, and my mother gained her eternal partner and soul mate. That was all so abruptly taken from us but the memories we will share as a close blended family will carry on in his memory. I have never had a more positive, respectful, talented, loving man in my life, and there will never be anyone who in my eyes will be as perfect as him. There will always be a hole in the world where Phil Hatch used to be. He will surely be missed, and our hearts go out to his family--especially our dear friend Judy.

Br. Hatch wasn't ever one for fanfare, and seemed to prefer to be on the back row, but when something needed to be done, he was always there. When he said he would do something, it was as good as done. What a sterling example of steadfast and Christlike service and love--and humility and meekness.

Phil was such a great guy. He will be missed. We have been in the Sunset 11th Ward for a long time now and haven’t seen your family on a regular basis, but when ever we passed by Phil he always had a smile and a wave. Judy, we will keep you in our prayers and you have our deepest condolences.
