I am saddened to hear that Phyllis has passed away. Phyllis was one of the most honest and caring people I know. She was one of the first to welcome me to Comstock Park Schools, which I really appreciated! Her sense of humor always brought a chuckle and her smile would light up a room. Thanks for the memories Phyllis!!

When I met Phyllis, she had just prepared all of the food for her son, David's wedding. She was so proud of him! Phyllis and Les had ample trees on their Division property and we used to joke that the only outside chore Les would allow Phyllis to do, was rake the leaves.This was much more humorous in the Spring than during the fall. Many of you were gifted with some of their apples. When it was Marcia"s turn to marry, Phyllis asked me how she was ever going to find someone to sing at...

Oh, Phyllis. One who is better with words, could convey the feelings I have for this women more completely. When I was a young teacher at Comstock Park High School, she made me feel welcome and warm. Walking into the copy center (in the teachers' work area at that time) always brought smiles and reassurances. I lived in Grand Rapids with no family or friends nearby. She became a surrogate parent to me and helped me adjust to a new place and new life. We should all be so lucky as to have...
