Pinky Caviness Obituary

Pinky Watson Caviness LUBBOCK-Pinky Watson Caviness, beloved wife of Col. Jamie N. Caviness, (U.S.A.F. Ret.), passed away Sept. 15 in San Antonio after a brief illness. Pinky was born in Corsicana, Texas. Two brothers, Winston and Thomas J., predeceased her. She held a Bachelor of Science degree in clothing and textiles from Texas Tech University and performed postgraduate study in education at Texas Christian University, University of Nebraska, University of Virginia, The Sorbonne University, Paris, France, and the University of Madrid in Madrid, Spain. She was a schoolteacher, counselor and administrator, and received many awards in Virginia, Nebraska and Spain, and all the while was the quintessential Air Force officer's wife. Pinky is survived by Jamie, her husband of 67 years, whom she wed in 1945 in Lubbock, Texas, and a daughter, Debra Ann Caviness of Manasses, Va. She was a gracious and beautiful mentor to many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Castle Hills Baptist church. No services are planned.
