Not sure what to say?

He was both a leader and mentor to many people. Probably one of the best lessons in leadership that he always brought up was: "to gain control of the situation or the people you manage, you must first release control so that you get the most from the people you manage." Too many people micromanage their people and Beni let them grow.

Aloka,
My sympathy to you and the family on the loss of your brother, "Beni". I retired from No. 3 OH. Electrical in 1985, during the management restructuring program. Aloka, you and I were associates at No. 4 BOF shop. I never had the privilege to work with your brother in the steelmaking arena. May you all have the strength to carry on with your lives through this trying time.

Dear Sandy and Family:
I worked as a secretary for Beni many years ago when he was an Ass't. Superintendent at #4 BOF and remember him as one of the kindest bosses I've ever had. Beni was always a gentleman to all. My sincerest condolences to you and your family.

I knew Beni during my Inland days when he was at the Electric Furnace Shop/#1 Caster and taught me a whole lot about electric arc steelmaking. A good crew of people - Joe Corso, Fred Roccio etc.- He was a good teacher! Also, I worked for him at Research and after his retirement saw him a few times at the Gaylord restaurant in Chicago. Our (Usha and I) condolences to Sandy and other family members. Mark

Beni was such a strong and supportive influence throughout my career. He always held high expectations, convinced us that we were capable of achieving them, and had a way of making us feel better after each talk. I will remember him as one of my life's greatest mentors.

Sandy,

Susie and I were so sorry to hear that Beni passed away. We will miss him greatly. He was a great boss, mentor, and friend to me during and after my Inland life.

Sandy, Aloka and Family,

Our warmest thoughts are with you.
Beni touched many lives and will be greatly missed. It was our joy to have known and worked with him.

Dear Sandy, Krish, Chandra, Leslie, Aloka and Dasgupta family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you as we all mourn the loss of Beni. Beni was a boss and friend to me during our time at Inland, and I learned that once Beni was your friend, he remained a good friend! I'm sorry, Sandy, that you and Beni never got to visit us in what Beni referred to as "Hillbilly" land! I had the porch and the rocking chair all ready for him!

Peace and hope to you all.

Leslie, We are sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad, our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this time.
