1983 Foto when I was RADM Driver @ NRDC

I am so sorry to read of RADM Holmes passing. I was his Driver, while I was in the USN as a Dt2 Petty Officer. RADM Holmes was always very professional & kind. I remember when I drove him & somtimes forgot to have the token to pay the toll on the 64w Expressway, he would reach in his pocket & pay & would not be angry. I remember his Retirement, it was an honor to have been his [email protected] the Navy Regional Dental Ctr in Norfolk Va , back in the 80's... He had a wonderful full...

I remember him so fondly when we were singing in the church coir together. Great, great guy.

On behalf of Tamara Wilson McLaughlin and Helaine Wilson Moore we are sad to hear of John's passing.

I attended his memorial today at ANC. May GOD bless him eternally.

John had an illustrious professional career. As a Naval Officer, he provided me with opportunities through a memorable Navy career and our family will forever be grateful. A good friend for over fifty years, I will miss our conversations ranging from experiences in the Navy to the many activities encountered professionally surrounding the American College of Prosthodontists. He was a wonderful mentor graced with knowledge and professionalism. Our family prayers are with you. Sincerely,

He adored being in the Navy and bragged about the time the air wing commander got him a carrier landing aboard the carrier he was assigned to. WE were in the choir together at St. George's Anglican Church. He was a fine gentleman, full of life and love. I so miss him.

Dr. Holmes was a fine gentleman who epitomised the definition of a prosthodontist. He was handsome in his naval uniform when I first met him at an ACP Meeting and he quietly told me he was proud to be from Canada and maintain his citizenship. He was the first and only prosthodontist born in Canada to be President of the American College of Prosthodontists, and we consider him "one of ours" forever. A good life lived well. Many fond memories.

Dr. Holmes was a significant positive influence for all when he taught in the graduate Prosthodontics program at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. His friendly persona and incredible knowledge was widely appreciated. He was a true gentleman and a magnificent educator.

John Was a warm and very friendly person we had the privilege of knowing during his time in Las Vegas, singing in our church choir.
Our thoughts and prayers are with family during this difficult time.
