We all respected coach and his dear family

Ralph and Betty along with sons, Scott and Bryan, were our neighbors when I was in high school and he was coaching football at Newberg High School. We became close friends and never lost track of each other. Letters and phone calls and a few visits over the years. Our last visit was about 1 1/2 years ago in Dundee when he drove out to attend a "coffee" given for one of his high school football players from Newberg who was ill. So sorry to hear about Ralph's death. Ralph and Betty were long time, dear friends of my parents, Frances and Frank Caskey. After my Dad passed away in 1986 Ralph and Betty checked on my mother almost every day! Ralph was an inspiration! I ran Seaside many times in his honor and he took my mother and I to the airport to fly to the Boston Marathon in 1993.
