I remember Granny telling me about when Uncle Dick was a Cub Scout and was at place called High Rock swimming hole and a child was drowning. Uncle Dick dived in as the child was under water fighting for his life. Uncle Dick dived down and due to his Scout Cub survival skills and wrapped his arms around him and swam this child back to shore. The child lived and Uncle Dick was given a Honorary Medal of Bravery from the Gladstone Police Department. He made the front page of the local paper....
