Randy Darin Minnick, the son of Winifred (Kugler) and Gerald Minnick, was born January 7, 1964 at Red Cloud, Nebraska. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 48 years, 3 months and 18 days. He received his formal education attending the Red Cloud schools and graduated with the class of 1983. On March 16, 1985 he was married to Kaylene Pickel. This union was blessed with three children. Randy pursued his life's ambition operating a farm/hog operation near Macon. On November 11, 1995 he was involved in a two-vehicle accident, which left him dependent upon skilled care as a resident of the Grandview Manor at Campbell. Randy's personality was pervaded by his enthusiasm for life and a keen sense of humor. As a boy, he loved spending time around the farm with his father. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Randy loved growing up and being part of a large family. He truly enjoyed everyone he met. He rarely missed a day stopping by the house to see his mother. He especially cherished time spent with his three children. Left to treasure his memory are his children, Joseph Minnick and children Wyatt, Zoey and McKenna; Stacy Huryta and daughter Cloe, and Christopher Minnick; his parents Winifred and Gerald Minnick of Riverton; five sisters, Gayla Disney of Hastings, Nebraska; Joy Chrisman and husband Dick of Franklin, Nebraska; Sheila Minnick of Hastings; Lisa Soflin and husband Bob of Eagle, Nebraska; and Ila Chrisman and husband Tom of Harvard, Nebraska; three brothers, Bob Minnick of Red Cloud; Rick and Kim Minnick of Inavale, and Ryan Minnick and Kathy of Red Cloud; 23 nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., April 28, 2012 at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud with Pastor Lyle Burwell officiating. Interment was at the Riverton Cemetery.
