Murfreesboro - Rebecca LaClair Sutton age 71 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with her Lord and Savior July 6, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Calvert and Lillian LaClair Searson. She is also preceded in death by her first husband; James W. Brolia, Jr.

Mrs. Sutton is survived by her husband of 20 years; Gerry Sutton of Murfreesboro, daughters; Marcella (Dale) Showalter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Cindy Lawhorne of Jacksonville, FL., stepson; Scott Sutton of New Hope, VA., stepdaughter; Tonya (Ken) Cleveland of Verona, VA., grandchildren; Jessica Showalter, Jake Showalter, Cody Lawhorne, Dylan (Angela) Sutton, Tori Cleveland and Kristopher Cleveland. She is also survived by her two brothers; Jerry LaClair of Murfreesboro, Mike LaClair of West Virginia, and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be Monday July 9, 2018 from 5:00PM until time of service at 7:00PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Pastor Kenneth W. Massey and Joe Asbell will officiate. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, Virginia at a later date. In lieu flowers, The Sutton family request that memorials be made to the Murfreesboro Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund or to The American Cancer Society. An online guestbook is available at

Gerry, Cel, and family, I was sorry to hear about Becky! Over the years, she had remained in touch with me and still cared about the goings on in my life and I in hers. Every time I pass the house here, I think of the love that she and Gerry put in to that home. I continue to wait for her to respond back to my messages. Her last message to me was to continue to pray for her and to check in on her, pray for her but most of all to stay in touch. I will miss her messages. Thinking of you all!!...

Although I didnt know Becky personally;?We may have met once or twice, but I dont rightly recall. However her daughter, Marcella, has been a good friend for many many years. Becky raised Marcella and instilled in her all the wonderful attributes I know and love. I know Becky was a strong and caring woman, with great commonsense, decency, integrity and humanity because I have experienced them through her child more times than I can count. My heart goes out to all who loved her, and carry her...
