Not sure what to say?

Ed,

I just learned of Rene's passing through the Mac alumni magazine. I remember her well from Macalester and what a wonderful, talented, and warm person she was. My thoughts are with you and your family as you cherish your memories with her and hold her in your hearts as you move forward.

Warmly, Mary Ann Hoffman

Ed, oh Ed,

I shall be drinking some rye in honor of Rene'.

You see. ,,,there are words and yet no words. There is only grace and love.

Dive deep, my friend... swim back to the surface and find a new breath of life.

Bless you and your family,

Ned Mac 1971

Just read in the Mac alumni magazine of Rene's death. Please accept our condolences on your loss. I remember when you two starting dating so very long ago. While it has also been a long time since we last were together, she was a wonderful person.

Love to the Mallen family, our thoughts are with you..even though heaven may rejoice in her presence, we here will miss her! .Love, Cassie Tooley Cordero and family

I just learned of Rene's passing today and am so very sorry. What a shock. Like so many others, I was lucky to have been part of the ACS family while Rene was there. Though it's been years since we worked together, I have remembered her fondly and always as a class act. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones.

I knew Rene not only from the class of 1967 (Albert Lea, MN), but also "way back" in 3rd grade and on! She was a wonderful person and will be missed. My sincere sympathy to her family and friends.

Ed, we were so saddened to hear this news of Rene's death. You, Michael, and Lauren have our deepest sympathy.

Rene was my personal coach in the American Cancer Society's National Leadership Development Program. She was an exceptional listener, mentor and friend. I feel so blessed to have had her in my life and hope to do her memory justice.

Thank you, Rene, for enriching the lives of those who knew you - for a long time or only for a moment. May the peace of God which radiated in your life remain now to comfort those who are left to remember and miss you! I will recall many moments from elementary school that Rene made special for all of us lucky enough to have known her.
