REX D. SCOTT

1926 - 2022

REX D. SCOTT, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his residence. Born Dec. 6, 1926, in Bluffton, Ind., he was a son of the late Harold V. and Iris (Motz) Scott. He honorably served his country during World War II as a Radio Operator with the Merchant Marines. Rex graduated from Ball State University. On June 10, 1951, in Huntington, Ind., he married Shirley E. Eby. Together Rex and Shirley raised two children, Christiane and Michael. He retired as a Trust Officer for Lincoln National Bank. Rex was a member of Brookside Church in Fort Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Scott; children, Christiane (Patrick) Gibson and Michael (Pamela) Scott; grandchildren, Alison (Kyle) Elsworth, Lindsay (Zack) Spieth and Erin (Aaron) Christy; and great-grandchildren, Ashton, Kieran, Avery, Mackenzie, Jillian, Grayson, Oliver, and Violet. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 Saint Joe Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46735), with visitation one hour prior to service. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Brookside Church.
