Not sure what to say?

Rich and I trained together in Phoenix. He was a great clinician and a good friend. His laughter was contagious as was his attitude towards "the man". He left the world a better place.

I met Rich at the Info Desk at Amplatz hospital in May of 2011. He was the funniest and friendliest person I had met. We used to joke that we were both born on 1950, he went to college and I went to war. He will be missed. RIP Rich...

I am glad to have had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Kaplan. Thanks for sharing your husband and dad with so many of us.

Rich Kaplan was a star....I went to high school with him and had a few classes with him. I was always amazed that behind that mischievous grin and hearty laugh was a mind so sharp and a heart so big. We were not close friends, but I respected him and looked forward to the lively discussions and laughter he brought.

I graduated with Rich. What an amazing life he had. Rest in peace, Rich!

This makes me so sad, Dr Kaplan was truly a great person. He was both my kids doctor when he was in Yankton. My son was severely premature and we spent a lot of time with him in his office. Coming in first thing in the morning because of his concern for my son being exposed to illness. We were able to dance and have fun while his music played loudly in the back. My son loved him. He even droves us to the hospital, which was basically across the street, on the many times he had to be...

I was attending a training on child abus, today and the presentor told me about Dr. Kaplan's passing. I am so sorry I met Dr. Kaplan when he was still in Yankton, SD and had the opportunity to work with him. He had a outstanding love for children, the most scared little kid was never afraid of him. They recognized his compassion and love, I believe he truly was a "healer" of both physical and mental hurt. I will miss him

We were blessed to have Dr Kaplan as my oldest children's pediatrician in Yankton. He showed such compassion each and every time we saw him. We were so sad to see him leave but so happy that he was able to follow his dream. Rest In Peace Dr. Kaplan.

What an incredible physician and amazing human being who dedicated his life to caring for little ones who were treated so cruelly and heartlessly as victims of abuse. Yet despite such soul burning sadness that he dealt with every day, he was able to make people laugh. I remember looking forward to reading the hilarious holiday letters that he would write-sarcastic, witty, insightful and inspirational that he would send out. He was a coworker of my father's (Marc Rhoades) and later we were...
