I know this is late but the card I sent came back to me so thought I'd share here. You kids have so much sympathy coming from us on the loss of your folks. It was always a great pleasure to have Martha and Richard stop in for a visit in Comber, ON to see my mom and dad, Helen & John Yurke. Great conversation & laughs. Really genuine and kindhearted folks.

Rose Catrow was Dad's aunt so Richard was his first cousin and I believe we're all second cousins. If anyone is interested in genealogy I'd love to be in touch. Contact [email protected] or Dee Yurke on Facebook. Brenda Chmura is also a family tree geek and we'd love to share info.

If anyone is ever passing through Ontario on the way to Toronto please jump off the 401 at the Comber exit and stop in to say hi at Yurke Sales & Service on Main St. to say hello!

Take care of each other - tell the stories.

To the Catrow Family,
I cannot express how saddened we are to here of the passing of Rich. Both he and Martha hold such a special place in the hearts of our entire family. So many times Suzanne and I remanice about the many boating vacations we enjoyed with your parents. I can still see Rich sitting on the back of the boat expounding about trhe many experiences in his life. Everything from courting Martha, to the Marines and of course his motorcycle. He was one of a kind. We are fortunate to call him friend. God bless all of you.

Mr. Catrow
You will be deeply missed, I will miss the times sitting in your garage talking about life, you always had a good ear and some great stories. Although you were not my father you were an inspiration to me and I believe the kids that grew up knowing you. You will be deeply missed but you will live on by the ones that you touched by your humor and wisdom.

Uncle Rich,

I have some wonderful memories of all our family gatherings at your house. We would have some much fun laughing and playing. We enjoyed the singing at christmas, with your loud singing voice. It was great.

You were always interested in my adventures with the horses, and anything I did.

We loved you so much.

Dad and Mom, were much more than parents they were my friends. They were always there for me and I for them.
Many trips to Frankenmuth and Houghton Lake. If Dad and Mom went by boat; my son Ricky and I met them by land > Boblo, Anchor Bay and Lexington. Going to the Boat Works just for a beer with Dad or St. Patty's Day for a great corned-beef sandwich.. Cosmo's Lakeshore House, every Friday for fish dinner.. Or just to Travis to get a burger and fries.
Dad, would have his Boy Scout meetings in the basement. After, all the Scouts were there they would begin with the Scout Oath and Law >> I used to listen for the downstairs steps.
Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly,
courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty,
brave, clean, and reverent.
I'am proud of what you gave me.. I thank God, for the person you are. Dad you taught me to be self-sufficient and to be a strong outgoing woman and always to "Be Prepared" ... Kim ...

You will be missed by many. I remember as a child going across the street to ice skate on the rink you made in the backyard. You took your family on so many trips to see the world. One day you saw me looking at all the decals on your car window of all the places you visited. You took the time to tell me a little something about each place. Its something I've never forgotten. Any time I saw you at a club function I was guaranteed to see your outstretched arms to give me a big hug. Ray and I will keep you, Martha and your family in our hearts forever.

Rich, I'm so happy that we got to visit you a few months ago. You where walking down the hall and the nurse asked if you wanted to take a rest, and you said no even though you were getting tired. Such a strong man I saw that day. You laughed and smiled that is what I will remember. RIP ~Karyn Walker

Grandpa, I will miss you so much. The memories have been flooding in. I remember you giving us rides around the yard on the silver lawn mower. He would have us sit on the hood. Picking me up from school on your motorcycle. Going up north and getting to drive your snowmobile on the frozen Houghton Lake. I also remember that you were the only constant and prominent father figure in my life. You are the strongest person I know. The Marine, the biker. You were always there. Now your in heaven smiling down on all of us. Kissing Grandma, riding hogs with Uncle Rick. Until we meet again. RIP Grandpa.

Our house was always pulsating. It had it's own beat. The house was always busy and noisy. There were up's and down's. That's what you get with 5 children. Dad was a man that worked very hard to support his family. A man that was stern, a man that also could be caring and loving. Dad taught us right and wrong. He also loved his wife Martha very much. Dad was very honest, it was his way or the highway. We ran around in the yard played with our friends in a fort he built for us kids. He taught us all NOT to sit around and wait for things to come our way but to REACH for our dreams. We went on mystery trips, boating, skiing and camping. We went on vacations all over the United States, we would go to Point Pelee and Jack Miners in Canada, to see the Ice Jams in Sarnia. Places I have taken my children. He taught us all to stand up for ourselves and grab the brass ring. We just simply called him DAD. Thank you for the skills you taught me and for being there for anything I needed. DAD I LOVE YOU and will Always Miss you Forever and Always, Your Fleabag, Your First Boy OX Your daughter Laurie!!!
