Richard J. Conboy of Clarks Summit passed away on June 13, 2021.


Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine Conboy. He was a graduate of Scranton Tech class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.  Following his service, Richard was employed for 32 years with Bell Telephone as a Management Consultant. He retired in 1988.


He is survived by his loving wife of over 58 years, Elizabeth Thomas Conboy; his daughter Carol Branning (Donny) of Scott Township, son Richard Conboy (Crystal) of Austin, Texas, daughter Christine D’Alessandro (Richard) of Brigantine, New Jersey, and son Daniel Conboy (Amy) of Dunmore; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Marion Dunleavy, Scranton; and brother Arthur Conboy, Arizona.


He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Conboy, and sister-in-law Joan Conboy.


A blessing service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit with services by Rev. Arbogaste Satoun, pastor of Our Lady of the Abingtons Church, Dalton. Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Elmhurst Township.
