Richard "Dick" A. DeSimone, of Plymouth, died Tuesday April 3, 2012 at his home in Plymouth surrounded by his family. The devoted husband of 31 years to Christine (Casby) DeSimone. Loving father to Stephanie Miller and her significant other Chuck of Lancaster, Jeffrey Miller and his wife Lynn of Plymouth, and Katelyn Miller and her significant other Seb of Plymouth. Cherished Papa to his six grandchildren Christin, Rhyanne, Nicholas, Zackery, Lily, and Ayla. He is also survived by sister Judy Dooley of East Bridgewater, and Jeanne Brooks of Hanson. Brother in law to Paula and Jim Croke of Plymouth, and Carol and Jim Roberson of Pembroke as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Boston MA, he was the sole proprietor of Nu-Look Remodeling which served the south shore. Dick loved golfing, boating, playing cards and scrabble. He had a passion for coaching youth sports in Plymouth, including softball, hockey, and baseball. Famous for his "Dickie" book of Hoyle Rules, particularly his rules on cards, horseshoes, and even the annual Christmas yankee swap. Cremation will take place at the Vine Hills Crematory in Plymouth. A visitation will be held at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St. Plymouth, on Saturday April 7, 2012 from 10:00 am till 12:30 pm, followed by a service in the funeral home at 12:30. Burial will follow the service. Donations in Dick's memory may be made to the Jordan Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St. Plymouth MA 02360.
