Not sure what to say?

To Sally, Bonnie and Sandy, so sorry for your loss. I had great memories of Richard. You probably would not remember me, almost 50 years ago, when I grew up on Bay Rd in Stoughton, Mass. you were my neighbors. My sister Pat used to babysit for Bonnie and Sandy. One day my brother and I caught a wild duck on Briggs Pond. That day Richard came to pick up Pat to babysit and we showed him the duck. He nicely explained to us its not good to keep a wild bird captive so out of the kindness of his...

Dear Bonnie,

Thank you for contacting me and letting me know your dad is gone. He meant so much to me in my career. His sense of fun was matched by his keen insights and wonderful mentoring. He had a lasting impact on my life and career and world view. A unique and joyful man! We did connect a few years ago and it was good!

My warm thoughts to you and your families.

Meg

I am so lucky to have had you not only as my dad, but also my best friend, my biggest role model, and my greatest mentor. You were always there for me. Your fun-loving nature, enthusiasm for life, and ability to provide such incredible insight on any topic are among your countless memorable qualities that will live in my heart forever. I love you and miss you so much, Dad.

August, 1965

It is so hard to say good-bye to my fantastic dad, mentor, friend, and grandfather to my children. You had a spectacular life, even if so much shorter than any of us ever had imagined or wanted it to be. So unthinkable. You touched the lives of so many people. I wouldn't be who I am without you, dad. I simply cannot imagine this world without you and will miss you every day. Even in the little things, I am reminded of your great big heart and how much you loved and took care of your family....

Dear Sally and the rest of Dick's family,

All of your and Dick's friends at the MSPCA are thinking of you and our dear friend, Dick. We honor and celebrate his compassion, laughter, wit, and wisdom. The cats of the world are lucky that such a kind man shared this earth with them and us. We send all our warm thoughts. Best regards, Carter Luke. President, MSPCA.

Sally, Bonnie and Sandy-I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you at the service on Friday. Dick was my second cousin. Bonnie and Sandy I don't know if you remember me but we used to play as little kids. My mother and aunt were your grandmother's first cousins. My aunt would take us to Tina's house when you visited. I remember your great-grandmother Faus too. I have some Christmas things that Tina had made for my aunt years ago. Would you be interested in them? [email protected]. Very...

We only met Dick and Sally last summer when they became out next door neighbors. They were busy moving in and so it wasn't until the send of summer we had them for dinner. Oh, what an enjoyable dinner! We had so much in common and Dick had so many stories that were fascinating. We couldn't wait to see them next summer. As my husband has a job in San Francisco, we plan to wait until the end of summer to get together. A lesson - don't put off, do it now. We will sorely miss Dick and hope Sally...

Dearest Sally & Family,

I cannot begin to express how very sorry I am for your loss, and it is indeed a great loss. I don't recall how or when we first met. I know it was in Wellfleet. I believe we first met through mutual friends. I think our first face to face meeting was through the Monday Club. I remember Moo & Judy (Duck Creeke Inn & Tavern) saying we should meet this cool couple named Dick & Sally, and how much we would like them. We meaning Arthur & I...

I was so looking forward to seeing Dick at the 60th HS class reunion this year, words can't explain my shock of his passing. On behalf of the class of 1955 our sincerest sympathy to Sally and family. He will be remembered at the reunion.
