Not sure what to say?

I was very sad to hear of Dick's passing. I worked for him at Sears in the Housewares Department. Although he was my boss, he was more my friend. We worked hard but also had a great time. We did so much laughing it is a wonder we were able to get our work done but we did! I had kept in touch with him from the time we worked together until this past year with Christmas Cards - almost 40 years. I did not get a card the past couple years so I figured it was too much for him health-wise. ...

Dick and I met at Sears in D/611 - and had cubicles adjacent to each other. We used to talk "over the wall." We maintained a wonderful friendship throughout my time at Sears - and then - when Dick left Sears. We corresponded regularly via email and I considered him to be a very close friend. He helped me through the death of my youngest sister - and he and I wrote extensively when Mira passed away.
I hadn't heard from him in several weeks - and usually, when this happened, his...

I was fortunate to work with Dick many years ago while at Sears. Dick was a great friend and mentor for me. His great humor and positive attitude was always an inspiration for me during my early days at Sears Headquarters. I know that he suffered greatly but he is in a better place now. My sincere condolences to his family and I like you will miss him greatly.

I was one of the lucky field guys who got to work with Dick over our Sears years..... An amazing friend for sure..... All the way back to the early years of 611, 630, etc.... Every assignment he had in 700-7, he hit the mark!! Always one of the best. And always with that great sense of humor...... Over the past few years, we shared a lot of emails. Mostly jokes, but also some sharing of personal stuff.... And laugh. Good Lord, we laughed a lot...... I'm missing him right now...... Rest...

What a fantastic guy! Dick was not only great to work with eons ago at Sears, he was a great friend the past few years. Despite his medical woes, he went out of his way to help me with problems of my own.

"Stosh" and I bet on the Bears & Falcons football games for the past 3 years. Not much money was exchanged but the snarky emails back & forth were just great. Sometimes in Polish, German or Spanish -- he knew his Polish really well and I was thankful for "Google...

Rick & Nick we have great memories & the fun times with your parents on Washtenaw. We still talk about them. Hope the wonderful memories of your parents give you some comfort. You are in our thoughts.
Sheila & Dick Norris

Dick was just a fantastic friend and co-worker, I am so saddened by his passing. I loved the emails he sent, not only to keep in touch, but to pass along humor he enjoyed so much. I sure as he enters heaven to be with his wife, God will welcome him with open arms, and will enjoy his humor. I don't know if God laughs, but he will with Dick.
God Bless him, his wife & his family.

A few people just exude happiness and a caring nature. So it was with our dear friend Dick. I know he is brightening up Heaven as I write this, and, finally, without pain. May his family find comfort in knowing a great many people looked up to him, respected him, and loved him......and that his memory is always just a smile away.

If Sears wasn't doing well in Heaven before, it will be soon. He was the best of us.

Mike Ahlstrom, a lucky friend.

Dick was one of my favorite people at Sears. We worked together in many departments. I will never forget his wonderful sense of humor and story telling. He made the workplace much more fun. I know he has had a long, hard battle with his illness. May he rest in peace and may his family cherish all the good memories that will stay in your hearts forever. Margie Ott Osicka
