Not sure what to say?

Dear Ruth and Family, I am so happy to have known Dick. He gave me confidence and encouragement that has never left me. Russ and I so enjoyed seeing you all at his Birthday party! His sense of humor was sharp and silly! Even when he hadn't seen us in 30 years, he remembered as both as former students. We will remember him fondly, and forever.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

So very sorry. When I think back on the great teachers I have had in my life - Dick Hagan comes to mind. I cherish my time in the Interpreter Training Program at IWCC. I remember my first day there when he showed us his name sign - "h" on the back of the hand -- he told us it was similar to the sign for 'hard'. As I grew to know Dick - the name sign seemed very ironic -- he was such a sweet man who genuinely cared about his students and the deaf community. I am a better person...

I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Hagen as one of my instructors at IWCC. What an amazing man! I loved listening to all of his wonderful stories--and he had so many! I recently met his nephew at church when Phil saw me signing to someone. He asked how I knew sign language and we talked for a long time about his wonderful uncle and aunt. I am blessed to have had Dick's influence in my life. I will never forget him! My sympathies to his immediate family and his extended community family...

Proud to have known him. Even more proud to be part of this family. Made me feel welcome from the very beginning. Thinking of you all.

My deepest sympathies to Ruth and your family. Dick was such a wonderful man and teacher. I have so many fond memories of the interpreter training program at IWCC. He will be deeply missed. He was a wonderful man!

Dick was a wonderful man. I met him and Ruth when I started working at harmony court. He was full of wisdom and always had a smile on his face. He became part of my family. He is loved and greatly missed. To Ruth and family, I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy goes out to you.

Ruth and Family, words cannot express the sorrow I feel for your loss. "Hagen" not only gave me the support I needed to work as an interpreter; he gave me the confidence and courage to excel in the field. That was his gift. Heaven welcomes a truly wonderous man. Thank you, Ruth and Family, for sharing him with us.
