RICHARD LASDON Obituary

LASDON--Richard Haven, passed away December 23rd after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. The New York City native is survived by his brother Jeffrey, his sister Susan, sister-in-law Jeanette and niece Jacqueline. His many charitable interests included the New York City Ballet and numerous organizations associated with the arts. His friendship and support have furthered the careers of many artists and musicians both domestically and abroad. Animal welfare was near to his heart as are his surviving dogs Chelsman and Smidgen. Generous to a fault, a unique perspective of the world gave birth to a sense of humour and quick wit that will be missed by all who knew him. Family will receive friends Monday 7-9pm. Services will be held at Frank E. Campbell, 1076 Madison Avenue, Tuesday, 1:30pm.

Ricky, we met in 1968 at Carols house. The first thing you ever said put me into stiches. You were the most fun person in the universe and I already miss you ever so much. It was you who allowed me to realize that laughter was my drug of choice. I love you dear friend. Tommy

First time I met Richard was 3-4 years ago and within 1 hour I was in a casino in front of slot machines. I had a blast winning too because he showed me which machines had better odds. Richard will be truly missed and I enjoyed his sense of humour.

To the Lasdon family, we are saddened to hear of our friend. Richard was man of great heart, spirit and humor. We have many great memories amid his Los Angeles visits where he was a good friend to Michael Kleinman. He was passionate about the healthcare of the world and helped us to understand many of the issues. I know he instilled in many of friends the courage to follow their dreams and travel the world and to be of service. He will always be remembered, may god be with your family.

Although we drifted apart after college, I will always remember my closest teenage friend. Richard's easy laugh, fun loving personality and warm and generous spirit always prevailed.
Rest easy my old friend.

Richard was a dear and complicated artist- his sense of the visual was unique and often comedic as well as educated and admiring. His affection towards animals, dogs in particular, made us dear and devoted friends. I will miss him always. My sincerest condolences to his long time devoted companion Marina Thomas, as well as his family.

See you later, my dearest friend.
