Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear about Rick's passing. He was my best friend's father, so over the years, I heard many fond stories of what a great dad--and grandfather--he was. Whenever I met him, he always had an encouraging word and a kind remark at the ready. My deepest condolences to his wife, Mary, and to Pam and Susan -- and all the family. May his memory be eternal!

Mary,
Jim and I were so saddened to read of Rick's death. Yet it is good to know that he no longer suffers. We hurt for you as you go on. You do certainly have a wealth of wonderful memories of your life together!!
It was interesting getting to know the two of you, first through Hengeveld Family Tree research, but then realizing all of our similar facets of life.
Was always fun to get together!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Yours and His, Faye (Hengeveld)...

I remember Richard from working with him after school afternoons at the Lakeland (Florida) Ledger. I knew he was a straight shooter and a good and decent person. That was in 1956-57. I'm sorry for your loss. Incidentally, his passing was on my (and my wife's) 56 wedding anniversary.

Dear Mary and Family, Rick was truly one of the nicest and most genuine people I have had the pleasure to know. He lived his life with integrity and I am so much the better for having known him. My prayers are with you at this difficult time. With love and friendship, Jan Friedlander

Rick was the one of the most positive individuals we have ever met. He was a good man who lived his life with such energy and "grace" and we were blessed with his presence.
