Not sure what to say?

Fr. Dick was "a good and faithful servant!" May he be rewarded for his numerous good deeds and deep spirituality! I have known him since the beginning of his days at Bishop Fenwick! God bless his family!

For all you

did at St Mary's

We met Father Dick over 30 years ago and he was such a shining light in all our lives, especially in times of need. he was happiest when ministering to his people and we have always felt his "closeness" even when not physically present. His spirit will always live with those he touched. Rest in peace, Father Dick!

I will miss Father Dick dearly. I joined Bishop Fenwick in 1979 as a Junior, having just migrated from India four weeks before school started. Having grown up in ALL BOYS Jesuit Boarding School in India, I was lost in more than one ways in the US, & at BF (culturally, Co-Ed, etc). Father Dick sensed it & was always there for me. What a great human being & Priest. I sent him a card every Christmas for the past many decades, as late as last year, & received one back every...

My wife (Mary Jo Hines) and I were blessed to have Father Messina marry us over 23 years ago. We always made an effort to visit with him on our trips back to the Winchester area. He was a very special soul whom we remember fondly. We thank him for sharing so much of himself with us all.

Blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Fr. Dick for a few years at the rectory. The friendliest, kindest, most selfless man I will ever know. St. Mary's will miss him greatly but Heaven gained a very bright light. Rest in peace Fr. Dick, I am grateful that you will be watching over all of us.

I was privileged to be a classmate of Father Dick's at St. Clement High. Later when I heard he was coming to my parish, St. Mary's Winchester, I was delighted. He has been a dear friend and outstanding priest, and leaves a legacy of love.

A rare angel of a man. How lucky Heaven is to have him return in Light.

I've known fr.dick for over 30 yrs. He has helped me and many of my friends without measure. the most benevelent, kindest, caring man I have ever met. The world has lost a bright light.
