I noticed that he died on my birthday June 14, but what I read on the back touched my heart. I don't know this man I never knew him but what I've read he was an amazing man. I first met Dick in Sigonella, Sicily in 1973 where we were fellow broadcasters on American Forces Radio. We shared a love of sports, were teammates on the base basketball team, and were just good friends. We have kept in touch all these years, meeting several times to laugh together and feel grateful for the great families, careers, and experiences we have enjoyed. Dick was always positive, always reveled in others achievements, and was always a friend. He built his life around building up...

Susie, I'm sorry I wasn't able to join Kent yesterday, but wanted you to know that when we think of Dick, we always think of him as the guy who always had a warm, friendly smile on his face and was just fun to be around. And of course, the fact that the two of you were together for 40 years, speaks volumes about his character commitment, and love for you. Please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

You were always a shining beacon of integrity; smiling thru wins , losses and the rain. I had the honor of knowing your friendship ; having met you while in 86 and 87 working in advertising promotions Expos Spring Training and WPB Expos. You always will be remembered as someone who called it as he saw it and Your friendship will be missed. I'm sure You and Gary Carter are on Gods baseball team in heaven.Rest in Peace-Safe at Home in Heaven.

Dick,
You will truly be missed by many. I will always treasure our times we shared.
May you rest in peace and suffer no more.
May GOD give peace and serenity to all your family and friends at this time.
Love
Jennifer Benedict
