To the Family of
MSGR. RICHARD J. SCHULER:

Please be assured of our prayers and Purgatorial Mass intentions for our brother priest, MSGR. RICHARD J. SCHULER, a proud member of the Archdiocesan Ordination Class of 1945 and longtime pastor of the CHURCH of ST. AGNES. We will remember him with prayerful great esteem for his faithfulness and fraternal support to his fellow Reverend Clergy from the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis.
REQUIESCAT in PACE.

TO THE SCHULER/HOGAN FAMILY:

Even though Msgr. Richard J. Schuler is now a member of the "Church Victorious," he surely must revel in Heaven in the wonderful news of Pope Benedict XVI's motu proprio on the Latin Mass in the worldwide Roman Catholic Church.

What a testimony to Monsignor's farsightedness--he anticipated this far ahead of its time! We lifted several "Ave's" for his soul yesterday on 7-7-07--and expressed our thanks to God for his...

Monsignor Schuler was one of the greatest priests I ever had the pleasure to know. I first met him in Rome in 1985 at CIMS. I spent some wonderful time with him and had the pleasure of going out to dinner with him in Rome during a blackout! My friend Phil, Msgr. and I were the only ones in the restaraunt and had the greatest meal of our life by candlelight. A few years later my family and I drove to St. Paul, MN for a family reunion and met up with Monsignor at St. Agnes. The kindness he...

TO THE SCHULER FAMILY:

We at the "FRIENDS of PRIESTS" Society based in St. Louis, MO, and now serving nationwide, mourn the passing of MSGR. RICHARD J. SCHULER. He truly knew the value of "Priestly Fraternity" in the way he faithfully affirmed his brother priests who were in good graces--and others who struggled!

Msgr. Schuler's dynamic yet traditional spirituality had a catalytic effect on clergy and faithful everywhere--and FRIENDS of PRIESTS will...

TO THE HOGAN FAMILY
and the CHURCH of ST.AGNES:

Know of our prayerful sympathy on the passing of MSGR. RICHARD J. SCHULER. He truly served the Faith and the Latin Liturgy well!
We are having some Latin Masses read for his happy repose.
May he rest in peace!
FIDEM SERVAVI, Msgr. Schuler.

TO THE HOGAN FAMILY and
THE CHURCH of SAINT AGNES:

MSGR. RICHARD J. SCHULER will truly be remembered as a traditional yet innovative churchman who did his very best to retain (and maintain!) the dynamic liturgical, artistic and musical traditions of the Roman Catholic Church at St. Agnes Church and nationwide! His intellectual acumen, spirituality, diplomacy and cleverness are not likely to be equaled again--but those who repect his multi-faceted talents and spiritual...

Monsignor Schuler, you always said you were a "garden variety Monsignor", but anyone that knew you realized that wasn't true. You were a gift to us. You were such a humble man, in spite of all your amazing accomplishments. You will be missed by your Chorale members, past and current, and everyone whose life you have ever touched.

Thy Kingdom Come!

I wrote to him when I was thinking to go off to the seminary. I remember he was very encouraging and gave a good recommendation for the Legionaries of Christ when I asked about them. A great man and holy priest! May he rest in Peace! My prayers for him and the family.

sincerely in Christ, Fr Jon Budke LC
